Waiting

So if you’re waiting on God, wait on Him right to the end. Hos. 12:6, “Wait on your God continually.” Wait until God answers.

Purity

Purity is about being clean in what we see, what we say, what we think and how we feel. These things ultimately determine how we act (what we do). It’s an internal state of being “clean” that produces positive outward actions. Purity is what keeps us knowing and doing what’s right.

It's as practical as not getting angry or frustrated or jealous of others, but being patient and happy for them. Or choosing not to swear/speak profane words when you hear others do it, but being clean in the things you say. Or it also could be on the inside not thinking bad things, but keeping your mind clean and only thinking about good things. Or even not looking at or watching things that you know you shouldn’t.

Only you know the areas of your life that you need to clean up a little bit or a lot...

When we can figure out how to live our lives with purity, then we’ll start to act the way God intended for us to act.

Today

The moment when you first wake up in the morning is the most wonderful of the twenty-four hours. No matter how weary or dreary you may feel, you possess the certainty that, during the day that lies before you, absolutely anything may happen. And the fact that it practically always doesn't, isn't the point. The possibility is always there - Monica Baldwin

It's in our hands.....the power to control the path the day takes. No matter how much work we have going, or how many meetings to attend, or all the phone calls to make, or all the running around that the day brings....we are still in control of what happens with our emotions and actions.

As we rise (in that beginning hours of the day), we have determine in our heart to stay full of joy, in perfect peace, on a positive path and at rest.

As we practice this daily, we will find that what's on the outside doesn't shake us much; but the determination to win is the captain of our day.

Happy Monday good people!

Powerful or Pitiful

I read this article this morning and thought it'll be nice to share it with you wonderful ladies! :) Are your thoughts powerful or pitiful? Sometimes thinking correctly seems to be a battle - and I'm here to tell you that it is a battle! The mind is the battlefield where we win or lose in life. Thoughts are powerful, and according to Proverbs 23:7, they have creative ability. If your thoughts affect what you become, then it should be a top priority to think right thoughts. And I want to make sure you understand the absolute necessity of getting your thinking in line with God's word. Here's the bottom line: you cannot have a positive life and a negative mind. A couple of positive power thoughts:
  • God loves me unconditionally - Psalm 139
  • I will not live in fear - 2 Timothy 1:7
  • I am difficult to offend - Proverbs 19:11
Meditate on these power thoughts, as meditation is being interactive with information. Meditating on a scripture simply means to roll it over your mind, apply it to your life and visualize the scripture in action. We can choose our thoughts by exercising self-control, which is called "on-purpose thinking." Power thoughts, when applied, will help you gain more control. See for yourself how this practice will radically transform your life.

Greatness vs. Catastrophe

Personalized version I heard a very simple, very powerful, very real message and although initially, it sounded kind of regular, it was really worth listening to and it changed the way I saw things or should I say, how I thought about things. Our thoughts are very powerful and can actually determine our reality. We have the ability to determine what we are going to think about. Be careful on what you dwell upon as each thought that we have can either lead us to our destiny in God, or lead us far away from it. Greatness vs. Catastrophe. Everything starts with a thought, therefore, medidate on the word of the Lord. There are two types of thinking: Stinking thinking and Syncing thinking STINKING THINKING: This type of thinking is based on lies, it causes anxiety and causes you to doubt God. It can be derived from or can lead to jealousy and covetousness. These are certain things that we say:
  • I can't
  • I do not have what it takes
  • God does not love me
  • That always happens to me
  • I knew this marriage would not work out
  • Who is going to love me now?
  • I accept my limitations
  • I am ugly
  • I hate myself
  • I never will be happy again
  • Nothing good can come from me
  • This is why these types of things happen to me
SYNCING THINKING This type of thinking is based on the truth, on hope, on trust and on restoration. These are certain things that we should be saying, as they are in fact true!
  • I trust God
  • I surrender to God
  • I believe God
  • I expect God to move
  • I am a new creation in Christ
  • I am called
  • I am anointed
  • I am saved
  • I am restored
  • I am renewed
  • I am bought with a price
  • I am letting go now, and letting God
  • I am making progress
  • I am surrounded by greatness
  • The future is promising for me
We, as women have the ability to choose to be positive (greatness) or negative (catastrophe). If we focus on things that are true (truthful things), noble (things deserving of respect), reputable (things that are not wrong), authentic (things that are not mixed up with something else - originality), compelling (delightful things), gracious (things of good reputation), best (not the worst memories)....we'll be far far away from yesterday's tears! The Mouth Has a Mind of Its Own!

Revised.... What if I told you that the source of most of our problems could be found within us —from the neck up? You’ll find it in the thoughts that come from our minds and the words that come out of our mouth. We must realize and understand the power carried by our thoughts and words. They’re so powerful that they can either bring blessings or curses into our lives, depending on their nature. Our thoughts and words may seem small, but they affect the very direction of our lives and also the lives of the people that we are around. When you encounter so many disappointments because of all the devastating things that have happened to you; you might find yourself afraid to believe that anything good could EVER happen to you. Like me, your philosophy of life could be, “If I keep my expectations low, i'll never be disappointed.” Over the years we become very cynical and negative. Our thoughts are negative, which causes our words to be negative…which all reflects poorly on our lives. Someday, we'll need to decide to change our ways and stop talking so negatively. After a while it'll take more than not talking negatively because cutting out the negative wouldn't be enough; we have to begin to think and talk positively! When we react negatively, we allow fear to take over our thinking. We begin to dwell on things that haven’t even happened and may not happen. Our negative thoughts cause us to speak the words that’ll shape our future. We’re constantly tempted to think wrong thoughts, but we don’t have to accept them! We have a choice! We need to purposely choose right thinking and speaking. Proverbs 18:21 says, Death and life are in the power of the tongue…. We must choose life generating thoughts. When we do, positive, powerful, life-giving words will naturally follow. I think some people try to control their mouths but do nothing about their thoughts. That’s like pulling off the top of a weed—unless the root is dug up, the weed always comes back. You’ll never control your mouth unless you first learn to control your mind. Believing is the first important step to switching our thinking from being negative to positive. Remember, what’s in our hearts and minds will come out of our mouths. If our soul (mind, will and emotions) is full of negative things, we’ll find those things coming our way. On the other hand, when we hear, read, think and talk about God, the Truth and more positive things, we’ll find that those good things will come our way. The choice is ours!
