Waiting

So if you’re waiting on God, wait on Him right to the end. Hos. 12:6, “Wait on your God continually.” Wait until God answers.

Our walk

“Whenever you do a thing, act as if all the world were watching - Thomas Jefferson

Every time we do something, we have to pursue it with the intention of giving it our all, actually giving it 100% and focused on finishing the job.

Unbeknownst to us (sometimes), there are people around us daily that depend on us, or look up to us, or admire us that hope to be where we are today, someday. We may or may not know them but they are out there - at our schools, our jobs, our churches and in our lives.

Yes, our lives are ours and ours alone to live but our footprints leave marks of roads traveled and whether you want to believe it or not, they are there to be followed....therefore, someone is going to walk in them.
That, we need to always be aware of.

Happy Monday!

Walk to it...

I have been on a 10,000 steps program (offered by Kaiser) and I love it! https://members.kaiserpermanente.org/redirects/10000steps/10000steps.htm.

The program is designed to help you increase your physical activity level and work toward a goal of walking 10,000 steps each day. IT'S REALLY EASY, LADIES. As a part of the program, you get a pedometer to record your steps each day.  And all it does is motivates you to get up and walk a little more each day...we do it already, while we are walking up and down, here and there, in and out of work, school, life etc.... Why not start tracking the steps?

When you sign up you can use the 10,000 Steps Web site to set personal goals, track daily steps, and monitor your progress online; maintain your motivation to stay physically active through daily e-mail tips that provide encouragement and support.

If you are a Kaiser member, I strongly encourage you to take advantage of this program. If you are not a Kaiser member, not to worry....you can still participate - just do the work, just the same.  In any case, we all can add a little more to our physical activity, right?

Here's a Helpful Tip from the 10,000 Steps® Program (I received this morning)

Get Motivated: Stay motivated by focusing on the many benefits you’ve experienced by becoming more active. Look for new and exciting places to walk — check with your local park and recreation department, community education department or park district for a list of walking trails in your neighborhood. Team up with family or friends and enjoy the walk together. Remember to connect your own values to what you get from being more active. If you value family, remember that being more active brings benefits to them, as well — more energy and better health to support them. If you value your professional life, you remain more focused, sharper and productive the more active you are!

Staying motivated also depends on discovering what you get for your efforts. Be sure to remind yourself that it pays to be active and manage your weight!

Walking with God

Genesis 6:9 - (The Message) This is the story of Noah: Noah was a good man, a man of integrity in his community. Noah walked with God. Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. We see scriptures of people who have walked with God. We see it in Abraham, and here also in Noah...and I sometimes wonder how I could add this to my life testimony - my walk with God. Depending on how long we know someone, most of the time when walking with them, we walk silently. Meaning, we do not do a lot of talking, we do not make a lot of comments, but there is a silent understanding that we are seeing the same thing, we are experiencing the same sounds and smells, we have the same reactions to things, or we understand the other person's reaction without them saying it. In fact, the better we know the person we are walking with, the less we have to say and the more we enjoy our walk. AND although this may sound like a relationship or a marriage, it can be but totally isn't. It applies to a friendship also. What about walking with God? Can we pray without ceasing as simply as we breathe without ceasing? Prayer could include our nonverbal communication with God. Just as we reach out in our other relationships, we can reach out to God without words. Just as we smile at a close friend, we can also offer a smile of appreciation to God. As I began to focus on my walking with God, I was able to see where I had been walking in my own direction, and how much of a distance there has been between God and I. Now, its harder for me to go on with business as usual when I am not at peace with God or with another person. Ladies, for us to walk with God, our whole self - body, soul and spirit - needs to be in order. Walk Builders:
  • In what ways do you reach out for fellowship with God?
  • How would you characterize your "walk" with God? Comfortable, close, distanced, awkward, serious,?
  • What might make walking with God a more natural habit for you?
