Trust

“Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces” Psalms 34:5, NLT.

For many of us, it doesn’t take much.  Just a small amount of adversity and we are offended with God and ready to give up on Him. We don’t understand why He let things happen, and it makes us afraid to trust Him.

We even go as far as saying "if He truly loved us, He would do something about our situation". 

But yes....God’s mind is focused on, “I do love you, and if you trust Me, I will do something.”

If you trust and believe, He will keep His promise to you!

Understand that God’s not intimidated by your anger with Him. As He did with Job, He will speak to you from the whirlwind. So many of us are angry with God when He’s not the problem. 

In this hour, we must be fully persuaded and confident in the love God has for us like never before. We must be confident that He has a plan for our lives and His plans are good. If we trust Him, He will do what He promised He will do.

In the meantime, keep your glow. Maintain the joy in your stride. Don’t stop talking about the goodness of your God and His amazing grace because, He will escort you to victory!

Resistance

Temptation is very hard to resist. It’s hard to do the right thing and just say no; and much easier to submit to carnal desires. It’s even harder letting go even though you know deep down that you have to.

Temptation is very tempting and so filling with temporary pleasures that you don’t know how to say no (at the moment). It catches you in the "now" and just drags you down making everything seem like what they’re really not. You get so caught up in the moment and forget about everything else that matters.

Resisting .... even though it’s hard is way better than doing it. Being able to stand up to what’s right, not falling down, and knowing that you came up on top is a better feeling than the one you would have had in the end of the other choice.

To those of us that struggle with resisting temptation because we have let it drag us down for quite sometime now..... know that you are more than a conqueror, you are victorious in God and you are well able to stand up to temptation and say NO.
No matter how hard it is you, know that you can overcome it and winning for the first time is the best feeling ever. The more you win, the easier it is to starve the fleshly desires of temptation.
You are your own person and you control your own decisions; therefore choose wisely.

I was at the local pool when I noticed a frightened adolescent taking swimming lessons.  "No! No, please, I can't!" she begged.  She stood a head taller than the rest of the beginner swim class, but she sobbled like a four-year-old.

"Jump in, I'll catch you!" her teacher called.  The girl bawled, "No! I can't!"

"Why do they pamper her?" I said to my friend. "Her fear only gets worse the longer they delay."

A third coach tossed the weary instructor a life preserver. It took both adults to drag the girl to the water and lower her into the arms of the teacher.

"Well, its about time!" I thought.  "They should have done that fifteen minutes ago"

Another instructor appeared before me.  "That girl went boating with her parents and brother last summer.  The boat capsized, and her father managed to save only her.  She watched her mother and brother drown. Now her father insists she learn to swim."

Those words stung.  I looked at the drenched child as she climbed out of the pool. I had not witnessed typical childish fear - I'd just seen a young girl cross a terrifying mountain.
