Date
Dating is not a great way to "really get to know someone." Why? Because everyone is on their best behavior during a date. If you really want to get to know someone, watch the person at school every day, or both of you get a job together at McDonald's. Eight straight hours over a hot greaser full of fries will tell you the real tale.

Dating is full of pressure and tension. What is a date, really, but a job interview that lasts all night? Or like you are auditioning for mating (and as you know, it means you may or may not get the part).
It is about finding out who you are and who others are. If you show up in a masquerade outfit, neither is going to happen.

Burdens

If you are like me, it's natural to carry on the load of a friend or family. You want to go to war for them and knock out whoever is standing in the way of their freedom and progress. ;)
While this is a good part of being a friend, it is also a dangerous disease for the carrier.
The lesson is to take everything to God in prayer; for the battle isn't ours anyway, it belongs to the Lord.
FYI: this is a very difficult one for me....

Forgiveness is giving up your right to hurt someone else for what they did to hurt you. We tend to hold on to things even though we say we have forgiven; just so we have something to bring up again at the next misunderstanding.
That is a terrible choice-habit and a hell-weapon that destroys many relationships.
Forgive, truly let go, move on and be happy.

What's scary about this quote is how we categorize our friendships. Are they based on circumstances, our reactions to certain conditions, others reactions to our conditions or do we take people for exactly who they are and what their friendship brings?
.... No expectations....
We have to be careful that we don't box people into our own definitions because they aren't always accurate either.
I'm just saying..... :)

A lot of conversations that are held between two people are one-sided. Often times, the person talking just needs a listening ear, NOT a judge, jury or teacher! They just need to vent; they just need to be heard.
