Waiting

So if you’re waiting on God, wait on Him right to the end. Hos. 12:6, “Wait on your God continually.” Wait until God answers.

Happy New Year Ladies!

Well, here we are again! At the very beginning of the new year. This is usually where we start thinking of different things:
  • Where am I now?
  • Is this where I wanted to be?
  • I really need to lose some weight this year?
  • Why don't I have any friends?
  • Why am I not married yet? My clock is ticking...
  • What plan does God have for me?
  • Is this really the job I want?
  • I need to move to another state and get away
  • I need a vacation
  • Where are all my good friends?
  • I really need to go back to school
  • I need to do something to make him propose? This is my year!
etc, etc, etc. While these are all good intentions, I think we put way too much pressure on ourselves. Now, its good to have goals and aspirations, however, its better to pursue tangible and feasible dreams. So, ok for me...for the past year, I have wanted to lose like 10-15 pounds and I am not the type to go to the gym (AT ALL) but I know that this is one of the ways to accomplish this goal. So, what do I do? Obviously, in as much as I despise the gym and have no motivation for working out...I realize that if I am serious about achieving this goal, I will have to brace myself and change some things. My point is, my focus needs to change from the big pressure of losing weight, to the small milestones of changing my diet and exercising somehow each week. You may have an entirely different goal in mind: maybe you want to be in a relationship...well, there are different things you may need to change (your focus, your attitude, your perspective on life, your perspective about men, your expectations, etc). Or maybe you want to buy a home..well, you might want to take a look at your expenses, your options, your credit report, your loan options) and see what steps you need to take. New year resolutions are HUGE pressures, in my experience because the always come annually; but small milestones are attainable daily.
